Prof Minoti Apte | Co-Chair
Minoti Apte (OAM MBBS(Hons) MMedSci PhD AGAF FGESA FAHMS) is currently a Professor of Medicine and Director of Research Strategy at the South Western Sydney Campuses, UNSW Sydney, Australia. She was a founding member and Past President of the Australasian Pancreatic Club (APC), and will serve as President of the International Association of Pancreatology (IAP) in 2025. Minoti is internationally acknowledged as a leading researcher in pancreatic pathophysiology and is particularly recognised for her pioneering work in pancreatic fibrogenesis. Her current interests span the pathophysiology of acute and chronic pancreatitis as well as pancreatic cancer, with the latter focusing on stromal-tumour interactions in cancer. Minoti served as Editor-in-Chief of Pancreatology, the official journal of the IAP for a period of 8 years, and is currently an Associate Editor of Gastroenterology. She has received numerous prestigious awards in recognition of her work including a Medal of the Order of Australia, being elected Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Science and most recently being awarded the George E Palade Prize by the IAP for her outstanding contributions to the field.
